Privacy notice

Last updated: 8 October 2026

This notice explains which data we process when you use homeet.eu and when you answer the survey on survey.homeet.eu, why, for how long, and what your rights are.

1. Who processes the data

The data controllers are Homeet's founders: Tony Di Fabbio, Eric Segalerba and Stefano Zini. Homeet is not a company yet: when it becomes one, this notice will name the company as controller.

The founders decide together on the purposes and means of the processing (joint controllers, GDPR art. 26): you may turn to any of them, but the single contact point for exercising your rights is info@homeet.eu.

For any question or request about your data, write to info@homeet.eu.

2. Which data we process

  • Survey answers. Your answers (choices and free text), the day (no time), the questionnaire version, the duration in seconds, the device type (phone or computer), the channel you came from (for example "instagram") or a campaign code in the link you opened (not your data) and, if you ticked the second (optional) box, your permission to use your answer to the bonus question to train the search engine. We don't ask for your name, phone or location and we don't record your IP address with the answers. If you type an email address, a link or a phone number in a written answer, we delete it automatically: first on your device, before sending, and again when the answer reaches our server. Please don't write names or sensitive data (health, religion, orientation…): they are the only data we cannot remove automatically.
  • How you move through the questions. Which questions you see, how long you stay on each, whether you answer or skip and the buttons you press, with a random identifier different from the answers' one and the time rounded to the hour: it shows us where the survey is hard. It does not contain your answers. They are sent only after you tick the first box.
  • Email (optional). If you leave it at the end of the survey: the address, the language, whether you are looking for a home or letting one, whether you asked for the launch email, the version of the text you accepted and the month. You can leave it only by ticking the consent box. It is kept in a separate list, with no link to your answers.
  • Abuse prevention. To stop mass submissions we keep, for at most 24 hours, an irreversible code (hash) derived from your IP address or your email: never the address itself, and it deletes itself.
  • On your device. The survey uses the browser's storage (not cookies) for a draft of your answers (up to 72 hours, to resume if you close the page), a sending queue (up to 7 days, so nothing is lost offline) and to remember that you already answered (90 days). These are technical tools needed for the service you ask for.
  • homeet.eu website. Technical cookies (session, language, your cookie choice) and, only if you accept it in the banner, Google Analytics for usage statistics.

3. Why, and on what legal basis

  • Market research and improving the service: based on your consent to take part (GDPR art. 6.1.a), given by ticking the first box.
  • Training Homeet's search engine with your answer to the bonus question (without data that identifies you): only if you tick the second, optional box, based on your consent (GDPR art. 6.1.a). Leaving it unticked has no effect on your participation. Written comments are not used for training. If you withdraw consent we stop using your answers for new training, but we cannot remove their contribution from models already trained.
  • How you move through the questions: legitimate interest in improving the questionnaire (GDPR art. 6.1.f).
  • Thank-you email: because you ask for it by leaving your address (GDPR art. 6.1.b).
  • Email when Homeet launches: only if you tick its box, based on your consent (GDPR art. 6.1.a and art. 130 of the Italian Privacy Code). You can withdraw it at any time.
  • Website statistics (Google Analytics): only with your consent in the cookie banner.

4. Who sees the data

Only Homeet's founders and authorised collaborators, bound to confidentiality. Outside Homeet we publish aggregate results only. We do not sell or hand over the data.

Providers who process the data on our behalf: the hosting provider (Layer7 (layer7.net)), which hosts the server with the website, the survey and the database (the data stay on our server and the provider does not use them for other purposes), Register.it (Italy) for sending emails and, only if you accept statistics cookies, Google (Google Analytics; Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework). The website's and survey's fonts are hosted by us: the survey pages contact no external service.

5. For how long

  • Survey answers: kept for analysis and to improve the service, without data that identifies you, for 24 months from the day you gave them; then deleted.
  • How you move through the questions: deleted after 90 days.
  • Email: until you unsubscribe, and at most 12 months from the month you left it.
  • Internal data exports: deleted after 30 days. Server technical logs: at most 14 days, with IP addresses masked.

6. Your rights

You can ask for access to your data, rectification, erasure, restriction and portability, object to processing based on legitimate interest, and withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing already done. Write to info@homeet.eu. For your email, the "Delete my address" link at the bottom of each of our messages is enough.

Survey answers contain no data that identifies you, so we usually cannot find yours (GDPR art. 11); if you give us details to recognise them, we delete them.

You can also lodge a complaint with the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, www.garanteprivacy.it).

7. Age

The survey is only for people aged 18 or over.
